The Boyertown/Oley Valley Retired
School Employees Association
The Boyertown/Oley Retired School Employees Association was founded in 1973 when a group of retired educators met in Boyertown hoping to organize a Sub-Chapter of the Berks County Chapter of School Retirees . Thirteen original members worked to develop an organization that promotes, improves, and defends public education. Fifty years later, BORSEA has more than 550 members and is one of the largest chapters in Berks County.
Our meetings and social events offer opportunities to get together with old friends and colleagues and to make new friends. Members are active volunteers who serve and support not only the public school system but the community at large.
BORSEA offers members the opportunity to travel on annual multi-day trips such as, a Christmas in Washington DC in 2024, a week in Canada for 2024, and a Murals Tour of Philadelphia followed by The Carole King Musical Beautiful at Walnut Street Theatre. There are also numerous day trips and seasonal activities. Check the Travel section for more information.
