CHRISTMAS in WASHINGTON DC 2024

Highlights of BORSEA's 2025 trip begin in Cleveland with planned visits to the Cleveland Botanical Gardens, David Warther wood carvings, Little Switzerland, and a dinner at the Hofbrauhaus.  Then it's on to Columbus and the world famous Columbus Zoo, with stops at Heini's Cheese Factory, and various Amish attractions.  Day 5 includes a tour of the Franklin Park Conservatory with lunch at Theo's, established in 1931, which is famous for their mile high pies.   After checking into the Wyndham Ligonier for a 2 night stay, we will visit  Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater followed by an afternoon stop at Kentucky Knob.  Finally, we will visit Pittsburgh with self-guided tours of the Carnegie Museum of Art and Natural History, the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, and a Gateway Clipper Sightseeing Cruise.  Our last day includes a ride on the Duquesne Incline, a visit to the rooms in the Cathedral of Learning on the University of Pittsburgh's main campus with lunch at Station Square.

After arriving in Bethlehem, PA,  we will disembark at the SteelStacks and spend the morning exploring Bethlehem's world famous Christkindlmarkt.  Like the celebrated Christmas markets in Germany, your shopping experience will include handmade items by some of the nations finest artisans and craftspeople, an amazing variety of delicious food, live music, and St. Nicholas.   Kathe Wohlfahrt, famous for Christmas ornaments and decor directly from Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany, will again be featured.  

This afternoon the Historic Hotel Bethlehem will be serving us a buffet meal in the Mural Private Diningoom.  Afterwards, there will be free time to explore Main Street followed by a guided tour of Bethlehem at Night.

This 2026 BORSEA  trip will explore Coastal Maine.  Our first stop is in Portsmouth, NH, for dinner and an overnight.  On Day 2 we will visit the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens , then it's on to Camden.  The next morning we depart for Camden Hill State Park and Mount Battie.  This afternoon we arrive in Bar Harbor, ME, for a 3 night stay in this beautiful coastal town.  Our Acadia adventure includes a Puffin Lighthouse Cruise, a guided tour of Acadia National Park, a Whale Watching Cruise, and a delicious Lobster Bake Dinner. 

The next morning we begin our journey home, stopping at the Maine Maritime Museum and Mystic Seaport.
